Building Blocks for True Friendship

The Bible gives a lot of good advice for developing wholesome,

salubrious relationships.  (Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12)

Today let’s examine some biblical qualities for solid friendships. 

I.  Loyalty - Proverbs 17: 17, 18: 24

A.  I Samuel 20

II.  Trustworthy - I Samuel 21: 42

III.  Sacrifice-

A.  One reason why so many married couples have such strained

      relationships is simply because they fail to sacrifice for each

      other.

B.  Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay

     down his life for his friends.” (John 15: 13)

C.  Mark 12: 28-31

D.  In order to be friends with God, it calls for loyalty and sacrifice

      as well.  (James 4: 4) (II Corinthians 6: 17-18)
