The Need To Remember

The Need To Remember

Memorials play a significant role in the lives of every individual.

Memorials are in place to help us remember a life, a particular battle, or an event that took place that forever shaped us.  Joshua 4: 1-8

Today I want to focus on three particular monuments in the scripture, placed

there so we would never forget their significance.

I.  God’s visual reminder that he would never destroy the world again by flood waters.  Genesis 9: 12-17

A.  Rev. 4: 2-3

B.  Psalm 46: 1-3

II. We see another memorial set in place by Christ at our baptism.

A.  Romans 6: 1-7

B.  Colossians 2: 12

C.  I Peter 3: 21

III. We remember Christ on the cross by memorializing his death and

       resurrection during the communion service.

A.  “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, proclaim the

         Lord’s death until He comes.” I Corinthians 11: 26

B.   Luke 22: 17-19
